What you type stays yours. TypeNod does input and translation on your Mac and collects none of your text.

On this Mac, TypeNod

  • Handles pinyin input and translation.
  • Keeps what you type only while you’re typing it.

The TypeNod app doesn’t

  • Upload what you type or its translation.
  • Save your input history or learn from it.
  • Read or write the clipboard.
  • Use cloud translation or third-party analytics.

Because it doesn’t learn from your input, candidates don’t adapt over time.

Settings

Settings such as languages and output mode are stored on this Mac. They don’t include anything you type.

Network

The input method never connects to the internet. When the app checks for updates, it only requests update information and never sends what you type, your license, or system details. You can turn off automatic checks in Help.

When downloading an update, the app connects to the update server to fetch the new version.

Apple

Translation uses Apple’s on-device translation. Under its policies, Apple may collect metadata such as the app’s identifier, the language pair, and usage and performance data, but not what you type or its translation. macOS downloads and manages translation resources.

This website

This website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand visits and page performance, including page views, referral sources, browser and device types, country, and loading times. A small script collects these statistics without using cookies, local storage, or fingerprinting. These statistics concern this website only and do not include anything you type or translate in the TypeNod app.

This website has no forms that ask for personal information.

This website is hosted on Cloudflare. To deliver and protect the site, Cloudflare processes technical data from each visit, such as your IP address, browser information, and the pages you request, as described in the Cloudflare Privacy Policy. TypeNod doesn’t use this data to identify visitors and keeps no access logs of its own.
